Burgers and Car Trunk Ceviche

Food filled day starting with a giant burger from Goody's diner. Got their weekly special (probably never going to be made again from what I was told) The Popper, hollowed out banana pepper that was blanched then stuffed with pulled pork and jalapenos placed on top of a 8oz burger.

Lunch, at 2pm, was followed by dinner with Justine at 5. We headed to Holy Chuck and got the special, which was a pork belly burger, along with the Holy Duck (foi gras on top of a burger), and the nutella shake. Foi and nutella really are best friends.

Oh and for an in between snack, fresh BC spot prawn ceviche I made in the trunk of my car.

Guess today was more of a rich indulgence of everything gastronomically great. Pork, beef, foi, nutella. Another day with good friends and good food.

Wellington Gastropub

Spent the day in Ottawa, so I decided to go to The Wellington Gastropub since it was in the area.

The Cheesecake Factory

So, I've never been to The Cheesecake Factory and everyone has been telling me I have to go. Today Justine and I decided to head to the states for some shopping and food.

I guess after this trip I understand why people like The Cheesecake Factory, but I still wouldn't say it's 'amazing'. It's good food, in expensive, but stupidly large portions! We ordered lunch portions and it still appeared to be dinner size. I'm glad I wasn't there to see how big a dinner plate is.

Black Hoof's Raw Bar

Up until a year or two ago, I never really enjoyed seafood. It was alway over cooked and/or had too many other flavors competing with it. I like my food simple. I like my ingredients to sing on their own or in harmony. The Hoof's Raw Bar does it perfectly.
