Head down to @BeastRestaurant for a Thanksgiving #Beastwich tomorrow! Last week's sandwich was inspired by Montréal's famous smoked meat.

When I used to live in the area I would drive by this place most every day, I recently popped in for a visit and was easily won over! Lots of fantastic products and people who care about the food they make. Just love it.

Earlier this year L'Ouvrier hostes their third dinner of a series featuring different chefs from all over the city, this night they featured Nick, the owner of Porchetta and Co. $35 for 5 courses, what a deal! Nothing fancy, fried chicken for the main, but man was it some good eats.
Easily my favourite dish of the night. If the whole porchetta sandwich business doesn't work out, I see a future in perogies! So good!

After a great meal, and a walk around the neighbourhood, my friend and I decided to drop in on Canoe for some dessert. We got the classic sticky toffee pudding, and took a sneak peak at the new tasting menu, Taste Corn, with the corn clafoutis. The smoke marshmellow ice cream from the red velvet cake dessert caught my friend's eye, and the staff were nice enough to endulge us with a scoop of it. Best ice cream ever!
Never would have thought of corn for a dessert ingedient, but this came out surprisingly delightful. It's a very playful dessert.
Always a favourite when I go to Canoe!
